Outreach
The Foundation provides financial support to PTG members through scholarships, disaster relief funds and research grants.
Scholarships
The PTG Foundation sponsors Convention and Exam Scholarships for members of PTG to help them advance their education. The scholarship pays for registration at the annual convention and the cost of the last exam necessary to complete their Registered Piano Technician certification.
The PTG Foundation also offers up to ten Leadership Scholarships each year to PTG members who hold office in their local PTG chapters.
Disaster Relief
The PTG Foundation established a Disaster Relief Fund immediately following the Katrina disaster in New Orleans. The Disaster Relief Fund is used to give aid to PTG members who are affected by natural disasters such as tornadoes, earthquakes, fire, and flooding.
Research Grants
The PTG Foundation offers grants for research pertaining to the science and history of the piano. Any original research project that aims to further the knowledge of the technical community and the public about the science or history of the piano or the field of piano technology will be considered.
